Diego Franco, M.D.

Board Certified Medellín and Manizales Plastic Surgeon, Diego Armando Franco Arias, began the study of medicine at the University of Manizales’ six-year medical program at age 18 where he earned his medical degree.

He trained in general surgery at Universidad de Buenos Aires, rated by Statista as the top university in Latin America, where he served as Assistant Chief Resident. He then continued his training in plastic surgery at Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina in Buenos Aires Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, which is widely regarded as the nation’s top plastic and cosmetic surgery residency programs.

His fellowship studies include Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Rio Grande do Sul PUCRS in Brazil and Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Surgery at Universidade Federal de Rio Grande do sul UFRGS in Brazil.

After starting his practices in Medellín and Manizales, Dr. Franco developed one of the first private clinics in Manizales that solely specializes in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgery to provide his patients a wider range of services in the region.

Dr. Franco specializes in a multitude of plastic surgery procedures at his private practices in the city of Medellín and Manizales including Abdominal Etching, Breast Augmentation, Liposculpture and Breast Lifts with or without Implants. All of Dr. Francos’s procedures are performed at the fully accredited and highly regarded Plastic Surgery Clinic (IQ InterQuirófanos) in Medellín, Colombia. Dr. Franco also offers cosmetic and non-surgical procedures such as injectable fillers, Botox, earlobe repair, mole removal, and more. Many of these procedures require zero downtime.
